The entire area can be considered low crime when comparing it to the South African major centers
The overviews below will give you a general feel until you visit the area.

MAP of the area

George

The business center for what is commonly referred to as the South Western Districts (SWD). Surrounded by the Outeniqua mountains it offers access to all modern amenities including the George airport, excellent schools and the largest shopping centers in the area.
George boasts the world renowned Fancourt Golf Estate where Ernie Else has his roots.

Wilderness is approximately 12 kms east of George and is located on the coast with all properties and amenities located not further than 2 kms from the beach.

Mossel Bay
Half an hour's drive west of George this area is on the coast line and has in excess of 200 sunshine days per year. Although a very industrialized town due to the close proximity of Mossgas, a division of Petro SA, it is surrounded by quaint seaside villages and boasts a private hospital with a superb cardiac unit.
Mossel Bay offers white shark cave diving, white beaches, and the world renowned Pinnacle Point Golf Estate recently voted as one of the top 10 new International golf courses which is reminiscent of Pebble Beach in America.

Sedgefield
Sedgefield is a town located approximately half an hours drive east of George alongside the N2 highway.
This town is more suited to those looking for a quiet and peaceful lifestyle. The town is known for it's arts and crafts and beautiful long beaches.

Knysna
Located 15 minutes drive east of Sedgefield, 3/4 hour drive from George and 250 kms west of Port Elizabeth.
This beautiful once sleepy hollow has the Knysna Lagoon as the heart of it's attraction to locals and tourists alike. It boasts a thriving economy with several shopping centers and National chain stores in the town center as well as at it's famous  Waterfront.
Although seasonal to an extent it has both a private and Provincial hospital and frail-care facilities.
Knysna dominated the search for South Africa's favorite holiday destination for years running and is home of the world renowned Knysna Heads.
The national N2 Highway linking Cape Town and Port Elizabeth meanders along the lagoon and through the town center.  It also boasts 2 world renowned golf courses namely Pezula and Simola offering golf estate living.

Plettenberg Bay / Keurbooms
